Who the hell are you?

McCarthyWhy?
Both the creators of this site are huge F1 fans, and have taken delight in the very best that Formula One has to offer. However, we have also taken delight in some of F1's less than stellar performances, its sillier moments and its notable non-achievements.

And as, to our knowledge, there is no other internet site celebrating the back of the grid - we thought we would. The initial concept of the site was simply a tribute to the lesser known drivers - but this has grown to include the worst teams, unusual statistics, a look at F1's more bizzare incidents and more!

DalmasBut these guys have got talent!
We know! We would love to be Grand Prix drivers. Who wouldn't? But we know that even the worst driver on our site has bucketloads more skill than we could ever hope to have, and represent the best of the best in the international motor racing scene.

Let us take this opportunity to state that this site is about F1's least successful drivers - not those whom we consider to be its least talented. There is a BIG difference. Hence the 2 points limit, which is merely a maximum - below that, we decide what constitutes "not successful".

AndrettiCan I suggest Michael Andretti?
No - unfortunately he scored more than 2 points. But he does feature on our site, read what we have to say here.

WinkelhockWhat's in the biographies?
Each driver has a biography, in which as much information as we can find about their life (or at least motor racing career) is encapsulated. These are in table form, with each cell representing a year or so of their career. There is a short summary in green on the left if you can't be bothered reading the whole thing (shame on you!).

We have been accused of simply basing these guys' careers on their F1 performances. This is blatantly not so. Their presence on this site has nothing to do with how successful they've been in other motor racing categories. Most have had very distinguished careers, in fact. This site is more often "Oh, what might have been!" than "Err! REJECT!!".

We have endeavoured to be thorough, and to not be too biased as to the talent (or lack thereof) of most drivers. However, if one-eyed, opinionated generalisations are found - we offer no apologies. The site would be more boring without them, than it already is with them. ;-)

James Darren What's with the coloured names?
Inside the biographies you will find different coloured text for names.

Red text is used for very very important names - people without whom the world would not go 'round, such as Jean-Luc Picard, James Darren and Jonty Rhodes.

Bold text is used for normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill names like Michael Jordan, The Queen and Leonardo di Caprio.

Blue text is used as the link colour. Often blue-named people will have a page on our site! If not a link, then blue is used for people who are future Rejects. People like George W. Bush, Peter Costello and Bernie Ecclestone.

Kuwashima Where do you get pictures/information from?
The pictures, and our information, generally comes either from our own library of F1 books and magazines, or off the internet.

Many of our pictures can also be found at Forix and 8w. There they are often provided by Rainer Nyberg, and we thank him very much for giving us his permission to use his scans. There are often so many that we do not credit him individually in Picture Indexes.

The other place invaluable for pictures is Motor Racing Retro, which is run by Franco Varani, and we thank him for his assistance. We also wish to thank Mikhail Prizov, Tom Prankerd, Richie Jenkins and Mischa Bijenhof for their interest in, and help with, F1 Rejects.

McGregor and Law Who the hell are you?
This site was created in 1999 by Enoch Law and Jamie McGregor, a couple of friends who each live in Sydney, Australia. We're both big F1 fans who have some kind of distorted sense of humour. UK resident Stephen Slater joined as a roving reporter in 2001. If you want to find out more, follow these links!
