Austrian legend with a motorsports career spanning more than four decades, featuring success in F2, touring cars and sportscar racing. A 4-time ETCC winner, Quester had a one-off Grand Prix start for Surtees in 1974, and is still competitive in GT racing, despite being aged in his 60s.

The initial version of this biography was prepared in January 2000, as a tribute to British actor Desmond Llewelyn (1914-1999), who portrayed 'Q' in the James Bond films. Dieter Quester is to this day the only driver ever to attempt Formula One with a surname beginning with 'Q'.
