Yes, but Met Office weather reports 1mm-2mm of rain around about now. It's no way near enough to make any impact on the race.

They got it back, we saw a lap, then they went straight to an ad break. Honestly, if F1 were to go to pay TV in Australia, I'd be so much happier...

Excellent race for both Alonso and Webber, they were by far the class of the field today. Romain Grosjean has to be mentioned too... as a what might have been. I'm sure he could have fought for victory were it not for that collision he had at the first lap. And Massa... oh boy, this was certainly his best race since the 2010 Korean GP, superb, could we see him returning to form for the rest of the season?

McLaren sucked hard here, especially Button (WTF has happened to him? This is now looking extremely ominous). Hamilton's doughnuts at the end of the race were a nice detail for the fans. The only positive here is that, for once, they got the pitstops spot on ( I believe they had the two fastest pitstops of the race).

Maldonado hasn't learnt from his mistakes. His loss.

And what was Kobayashi thinking on his last pitstop? Kazuki Nakajima would be proud of him :lol:

The differene was, this incident by Maldonado was not malicious. It was just poor driving in a normal situation. He wasn't driving like the madman he is known as, it was just poor technique. A better driver wouldn't have let the car slide into snap understeer like that. I think the car flatters him most of the time really, if you'd put Grosjean or Perez in his place they'd also have won races by now.

Great win by Webber.

McLaren's deal with the devil showed today, as they were granted lighting fast pitstops in exchange 'drop anchor' pace. Even the SKY commentators had an on-air pow wow to shite on the team.

Thanks to Wizzie for hooking me up. I'm struggling to find reasons to watch the American coverage (even in HD) after watching a grainy but quality stream of the British coverage on my laptop. It's just that much better.

I thought Alonso would be able to hold on to the lead, but those Softs really were awful, weren't they? I think Webber must have known that Alonso would have to do the strategy he done; Alonso was comitted to it as soon as he chose to start on the Hards, so all Webber had to do was keep on the pace, don't throw it away and try and fight he-who-should-not-be-criticised off behind him.

I really was dissapointed for Schumacher and Grosjean today as well. I was rooting for a Schumacher win after qualifying finished, since everybody's favourite Frenchman was down in 9th. The Mercedes really has lost some of it's pace, after about the first 2 laps it was going backwards faster than a stuntman on steroids. Grosjean undeniably had the pace to win the race today, to finish 6th after being at the back of the pack early on without a safety car really shows his talent. As others have said, it is another 'what if' to add to Lotus/Toleman's tally, and if they don't sort it out soon, the whole season may be a 'what if' without a single win, which would be a great shame.

McLaren were a big dissapointment. Jenson Button was slow again in the early part of the race while Hamilton wasn't doing too badly, but as the race went on, Button came more and more on the pace while Hamilton went more and more of the pace. The car really has lost it's edge over Ferrari, Lotus, and Red Bull. I was expecting another tantrum from Hamilton like the spoilt baby he is but luckily he restrained himself, and while Button only came, that was more of the cars fault than his. It's amazing when you think back to Q2 in Australia when Alonso spun off while trying to extract the maximum from what obviously was a dog of the car while McLaren cruised to victory; now, McLaren were flogging a dead horse when it came to pace today and Alonso is leading the championship in one of the best cars on the grid. It appears to me that the upgrade McLaren made to their nose, the change from a smooth curved line to a nose that flicks uip at the bottom, has hurt their race pace, because ever since the change has been implemented they haven't been as fast as they were. McLaren need to realise that copying everybody else is not always the way to go.

On another note, is anyone else getting used to the stepped noses? I'm not saying I want them back, or that they are the most beautiful cars of all time, but some cars, especially the Lotus, really appeal to me now, more than they did when I saw the first pictures of the Ferrari in Autosport and almost puked all over it in disgust.

As probably the Number 1 Maldonado fan on the forums, I won't try and defend his slam-bang-crash-move out of my way or else attitude of late. Valencia was just poor form, as was Cananda, and today, even though he still made a msitake, as kostas said, it was more a racing error than a misguided passing attempt. Malodnado reminds me of Juan Pablo Montoya; fast (okay, maybe Maldonado isn't there yet) and aggresive. Montoya was my favourite driver when I was younger (before I lost a bit of respect for him at McLaren and when he sodded off to CRAPCAR), as he always found a way through if he wanted to, he never slowed down, deliberated an overtake, then decided against it. Him driving for my favourite team, Williams, helped as well. I seem to remember James Allen saying: "That's not normally a usual overtaking spot" when Montoya made a massive pass. But, unlike Maldonado, Montoya was often clean with his passing (unless I'm very much mistaken), a skill which Maldonado needs to learn. In short, I love Maldonado's style, but I feel he needs to learn when a pass is never going to work, or to tone it down occasionally to score points to contribute to the championship. As they say, to finish first, first you must finish, and that is the mark of a true champion - just as Alonso has proved time and time again this year.

It wasn't much of a classic was it? Good win for Webber though, and nice to see Massa have a competitive race finally. McLaren's pace is just no-where at the moment, I actually think Button had quite a good race from 16th, and to get a point at the end was a good reward for his efforts. Hamilton pushed hard, but just ended up back where he started. They definitely need to sort things if the team want to come away with at least one of the championships at the end of the year, they're now down to 4th in the WCC.

And what happened to Rosberg? That was a terrible race for him! Mercedes clearly don't have much pace, evidenced by Schumacher's fall away from the front, but 15th is just embarrassing.

I surely am, but so far I only find Force India's and Sauber's attractive.
