Pretty certain that's a fact. Just off-hand I recall Villeneuve was on for 5th before the car broke down.

Would've defienetly scored at Australia, Spain, Imola maybe, Nurburgring too. Didn't he record his first classified finish at Spa?! Awful reliability for a team 'that would win the first race'.

Having heard it again for the first time in years last week, Tthe old Ten Motorsport theme is just as good, if not better than the Chain. (Although, the intial version for F1 is debatable at best)

For once I actually agree with you on something Kostas22. I would be really unpopular and say that it is as good as The Chain, in a different way (although it doesn't have quite the same drama to it). ITV's Jamiroquai one really sucked though.

Indeed you will. I actually think the song is ok, I even like most of Moby's stuff, but it's totally unsuitable for an F1 Intro. In terms of UK F1 intros, that would come dead last in my list. OK, maybe equal last with the 1997 ITV intro, which was a bit average.

Thinking about a debate in another thread about Williams, I want to put this particular point out even if it may draw some flak - that instead of destroying the Williams F1 team, the FW33 may prove to be the car that helps save the Williams F1 team because it was such a failure.

For a number of years, the senior management of Williams had come under criticism from external parties over their marketing strategies, allocation of resources and weak aerodynamics (Frank Williams admitted after the BMW partnership broke up that the power of BMW's engines had partially masked the slight deficit they had in aero development compared to other teams). Equally, the team had been slowly bleeding talent for a number of years - take the fact that Bigois and Zander, two of their most senior designers, were poached by Honda, for example (where they ultimately helped create the BGP001), almost immediately after they joined the Williams team.
With a stake in the team being held by outside investors there was a growing pressure on the Williams board, but the underperforming FW33 forced the team into a position where it had to implement reforms. Without the indignity of seeing the team being humbled and finally bringing things to a head, I doubt that Williams would have made the reforms that have brought it far greater success this year.

I don't think this year's Ferrari is quite as crap as everyone makes out, and I don't believe Massa is the true indicator of the car's performance. I think it is somewhere between the two drivers - Alonso is just more able to make the best of it, whereas Massa is clearly off-form and struggling with set up.

Ferrari knew they didn't have the best car, again, so have talked up how rubbish it is because it makes Alonso look good and they want to keep him sweet.

JV also thinks this as well. I disagree. Sometimes DRS is good, other times it is either too easy or completely ineffective! But the last race in Canada was good. I think they should put DRS in ge straights where you don't often see overtakes, like in Montreal, they could have put a DRS zone before turn 6 or before turn 8.

Possibly, i'd say it's between 6 teams on who has the best driver pairing. Those 6 teams in no order obviously being

McLaren
Mercedes
Ferrari
Lotus
Sauber
Red Bull

Ferrari only being contenders on that list because Alonso is the clearly best driver in Formula 1.

The rest of them in order from 7th to 12th is:

Force India
Caterham
Marussia
Toro Rosso
Williams
HRT (Karthikeyan is that shite, that he drags PDLR down with him, who is nowhere near the worst driver on the grid)

Which brings me onto my unpopular opinion, Williams have produced their best car since at least 2007, possibly 2005, but their driver line-up is useless. (Yes I know Maldonado won a race, but Jacques Villeneuve was world champion for bathplug sake.)

My order:

Sauber - If not the best pairing then certainly that with the greatest potential. Would like to see Kobayashi doing more to not be outshined by Perez. Personally I think Kobayashi is a very good driver, while Perez is possibly a great driver

Lotus - Quite possibly the best too - Raikkonen seems to be great only when his heart is in it. Jury still out on Grosjean but he is definitely getting there

Mercedes - should be the best, but I think Rosberg is in danger of becoming the new Mark Webber. Schumi could contribute if the car would let him

McLaren - yes, when both Lewis and Jenson are having a good day, which is pretty rare.

Red Bull - I rate Vettel higher than most people do on here. Webber is a spent force

Caterham - I'd actually put them up with Red Bull. Two quick drivers, and Petrov is less accident prone these days

Ferrari - As you say, very much being carried by Alonso. But the constructors championship is out of reach with only one effective points scorer

Force India - They have two drivers that I would put in the "good" category, with Di Resta maybe being in "Very good". I was so pleased to see Hulkenberg back in a race seat but he has been highly disappointing. Hard to say whether or not the car is letting them down

Toro Rosso - So far, a big mistake dropping Alguersuari in particular for their current pair. Vergne possibly edges it and might not get dropped as quickly as Ricciardo will

Marussia - Glock should be doing a Kovalainen here, but he isn't

HRT - They could do a lot worse than PDLR, they could do a lot better than Karthikeyan

Wiliams - Good car this year, shame it is getting crashed far too often by this pair. Quite frankly this pair are showing how far Williams have dived from they days when they only wanted the very best drivers, and however good a car they build they will continue to dive until they sort these muppets out
