Helmet suggestions

Postby Many Blue Flags » 23 Nov 2009, 06:20

Howdy all

I'm thinking about getting a customised helmet for Christmas, and though I've got the colours I want, I don't know what setting to put them in. So I thought what better than having honour to an F1 reject? So could I have your suggestions for what Reject helmet I should paint in my own colours? The best suggestion that I choose will get a picture of me posted to this site wearing it. ;3

Ayrton Senna-- the single most iconic helmet in racing history.

Says it all really.

BTW, after seeing the title I thought this was Erection at Nude Beach-style spam. I won't say why.

If I ever get a helmet painted (oo-er) that would have to be a strong contender for the colour scheme, it's very nice indeed

Though not a reject by any means, he drove for enough reject teams to get a numerous mentions here...

You could probably do away with the stars. Nico Rosberg stole this design, more or less.

How about putting the best parts of reject drivers' helmets together?

Pink from Lamy, spider from Tarquini, olive leaf from Chiesa, pineapple from Zanardi, "rainbow" from Wilson etc.

Another vote for Zanardi - I've always loved that design for some reason (and that's the one I use on BATracer!)

If it wasn't a reject, I'd have proposed that helmet, but in the Sr, variant, with red and white and no silly sponsors.

Eeerm..well, white clothes get dirty more easily than other clothes, but if you've interpretated this on another way, perhaps you're trying to hide us something...

No. Not hiding anything. Certainly not multiple spins on a damp track into the muddy grassy banks. Not at all.

plain white ?
are we talking about "the stig" ? Then we are back with a F1-reject :-)

Anyways, I think bold and simple paintworks are the best. Recognizable and personal...I my opinion modern F1 helmet designs are ways to busy and overloaded with airbrush effects.

Ayrton, Alesi, Lauda, Prost had helmets i liked, but none of them are rejects ;-)

Which are the personal colors you want to include in the design ? This maybe relevant for the paintscheme...
Back top topic : Gary Brabham´s Helmet was outstanding, sad it was never seen in a race. But watch the beautifull picture in the benetton testrun :-D

Cheers
Dave

Sorry to go back to Alessandro Nannini, yes he's not a reject, but his Helmet paint scheme always suggested "Menace"

you know, speaking of helmets, i've been dying to find a site with a good collection of helmet pictures. Can't seem to find any good ones.
I got Pointed Opinions and I ain't afraid to use em!
F1rejects no.1Räikkönen and Vettel fan.
BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

I wouldn't type that into google (at least without the words "race" or "motorbike" also added).
