PRECISION TEST POSTPONED, INFINEON SIGN DEAL
MORE DEVELOPMENT TIME NEEDED
Precision Motorsports has postponed it's Driver Test from the 12th-15th of September to 28-31 of October. "Precision Motorsports has postponed it's test at Oschersleben," Wilhelm Krautmeir said in a statement today. "The design team under Matt Schroeder and Gustav Brunner have decided that it is not possible to finish design of the car before the end of September. Due to this, we have postponed the driver test to the 28-31st of October. This should be ample time for the team to finish design, and to finish construction of the first chassis." Krautmeir also confirmed that Porsche would be building all parts, including the engine, along with the car itself at it's factory in Stuttgart. "From the beginning, it was clear that our deal with Porsche would have it's benefits, and I'm happy to announce that they will be building the car and all it's parts, in addition to designing and building the engine," Krautmeir said.
In other news, Infineon Technologies, a German company, has signed a deal with Precision to sponsor the team. "I am delighted to announce that Precision Motorsports and Infineon Technologies have signed a deal that will prove extremely beneficial for both parties," Krautmeir said. "Infineon will be providing us up to 5 Million Euros, and their logos will feature prominently on the car and overalls." The deal means that Precision have secured a third partner for the 2013 season, with Dailymotion and Porsche being the other two. Some estimates show that altogether, the three sponsors are bringing together nearly 30 Million Euros, which is still considerably lower than the budgets of other teams.
