F1RDS - 2015 Season - Preparation for 2016/Driver Signups

Postby Ataxia » 02 Aug 2012, 01:39

Well, here we go folks. Now my computer's running GP2 like a boss, I can get this up and running.

Image
This is the F1 Rejects Development Series. (wiki here)

This series is a shop window for the young drivers linked to the existing teams in the RWRS and RoLFS. Team owners have the chance to either begin a full development program, where they set up a team and bring through their own drivers, or have a purpose-made team for this series where team managers of other series loan out their drivers to them. Drivers are required to be 21 or under when the season begins except in cases where special dispensation is given.

So if you want to develop some youth links or you're on a waiting list for another series, here's a place to hone your drivers' or team ownership skills.

New rules HERE.

Any queries or problems, don't hesitate to ask. If bosses from other teams wish to loan out their young drivers, you can advertise them in this thread too. Of course, we'll need painters later on too (I'll help if desperate).

As I said, Gillet's development program only goes down to F2RWRS. But I'm still entering a driver: 18-year-old Simon Mestach, from Wavre.

It'll just tie in with RWRS and RoLFS, so it'll be 2015.

Although I don't currently own a team in any of the RWRS series (and I don't really think I ever will again), would it be alright to enter a driver or two?

SRMP wrote:Nurminen Racing Engineering to enter F1RDS

The Finnish racing team Nurminen Racing Engineering, headed by former F1 and F1RGP2C driver Niko Nurminen, has announced their intention to take part in the new F1RDS series.

"This will be a great learning experience for us, as we've also lodged an entry to F1RWRS but the list of applicants is currently so long so I doubt we're going to get there any time soon. Some may think that our finances might not be enough for a big jump like this, but even though we lost Nokia back in 2010, there are other large Finnish companies who want to promote their products as well; our sponsors will be announced at the same time as our livery. Our goal in this new series is to promote Finnish, Estonian and Nordic driving talent in the best way possible.

I'll take numbers 7 and 8, please. I won't announce the drivers yet, although I can already say that the other one will be my own, while the other seat is open for offers. If Tõnu Pykälistö is young enough, we'd like to offer him that seat.

If you still want to keep it similar, I'd suggest Tuomo (or Tuomas, you pick) Suomanen.

Kingfisher Racing expand further.
Mr.Alexander was pleased to announce a two-car team being entered in the Development Programme for aspiring RWRS and RolFS drivers, wishing to help out as much as he can. "We are delighted to announce our intention to compete in this development programme."

Kingfisher Racing info:
Chassis: KDP-001
Engine: TBA
Car number #3: TBA
Car number #4: TBA

Okay, I don't think it's fair that all the teams put their own drivers in the cars as several members have no chance of having a team. Therefore, any member that doesn't currently have a team in the F1RWRS can put a driver in my car.

I don't enter a team, but a driver...

Björn Ekdal
This 17-year swede has impressive results from karting, including 2nd place in KF2 European Championship.
After karting he moved to Swedish Formula Ford, placing 2nd in his first season.
He is now looking to move to international formula series with help from his sponsor Nordea.

And no, he doesn't speak very good english , nor do I speak very good swedish (as a finn, it's mandatory subject in school), so I used Google Translator. So if you understand swedish, you'll most likely find mistakes..., so he sticks with swedish.

Ah, what the hell, I'll enter a team after all. :)

Definitely Maybe Racing (DMR), a Manchester-based karting school will take numbers 9 and 10. Laura Wener will be lead driver. The second seat is free to anyone who wishes to drive for the team. First come, first serve

And yes, before you ask, I've even managed to get Britpop references into my drivers. Tom Butler's uncle is none other than Bernard Butler, the original guitarist from Suede, whilst Laura Wener's auntie is Louise Wener from Sleeper

Should either Bernard or Louise see this, remember that this is fiction

Projekt Roter Baron, to most people (only) known as the entity running Volks.Racing in the Indy series, is interested in taking numbers one and two and would be very willing to offer Björn Ekdal one seat.

Furthermore, I would be interested in moving my F3RWRS driver Anita Horford to this series. Would anyone be willing to have her?

SCUDERIA ALITALIA GIOVANILE SQUADRA
#22 Benoît Voeckler (FRA) [18 years old]
#23 TBA

We will take on a driver from a user that doesn't currently have a team elsewhere. I was going to offer it to Björn Ekdal but it seems Rosso Barone Progetto beat me to it.

Projekt Roter Baron would be more than interested in signing him and handing him the #1 car.

So, just to make sure everyone knows what we are going for, this is what our team would look like if everything works out:
Projekt Roter Baron (Klon)
#1 Patrick Feldhoffer - Germany - 18
#2 Simon Mestach - Belgium - 18
Bruno Spengler does not approve of your tomfoolery.

So, I believe you can understand for who Björn will drive for?

With all the languages going on in this thread, I just had to put in some Finnish as well.

WIse choice for Björn. He won't have so many communication problems, because there is already another Swede in the Giovanile Squadra, Rangar Larsen :D
