I'll try to make season highlights.
I decided not to make more videos because... the cars have no liveries. That would be hard to watch without knowing who's who.
That's why I want to replace LFS with a different game. rFactor will do the job, I guess.

Race
Joey Tempest took advantage of his first pole position of the season and scored 11 points after winning the EuroBrun Aston 500. Bernard Shellhammer finished second and was the fastest man on the track with 2:32.50, that means 8 points plus 1 additional point for the fastest lap. Phillippe Nicolas was 3rd, followed by OzJet Westhill Grand Prix winner Richie White. Douglas Mann finally unrejectified himself by finishing 5th. Damon Cannon was 6th, Sebastian Graves 7th and Phil McCracken scored a single point for 8th.

The season's grand finale is coming! But before we'll get to it, one more race awaits the 20 drivers.

Colin Kolles Special

Qualifying
This qualifying session was the most rejectful in the short life of F1RLFS series. Out of 20 drivers only 9 was able to set their laps, with 11 drivers spinning out. This was caused by a recent resurfacing of the track, in which a new kind of asphalt mixture was tested. Unfortunately after this year's thunderstorms in Blackwood the track was slippery like a marble and the results can be seen today. It is still unknown if this qualifying session will count towards the championship (mind you that polesitter is awarded with 1 point), and what to do with 11 drivers that couldn't set their times, having to finish their qualifying on the outlap.

Okey doke.

The Colin Kolles Special will start in 5 minutes. The IRDU commitee decided to start the race with all drivers on the grid.
So far the race is going fine, the asphalt dried through the night and no-one is hurt... yet.

Race
Vincent de Nieuwe won the Colin Kolles special. Dutch driver, who's racing for Scuderia de Cesaris, was so far one of the most unsuccessful drivers, that didn't score a single point. This is not only his first win, but also his first points in this season. The other driver that benefited from this messy race was Shinobu Katayama, one of a few women in the series. Japanese driver finished 2nd and is by far the most successful female driver in F1RLFS. Third place was taken by Sebastian Groves, followed by both Virgin Inter Corse drivers - Daniel Cockburn and Phil McCracken. Ismail Sbai, de Nieuwe's team mate, finished 6th. Adam Armenta and Damon Cannon took the final 7th and 8th positions. Pole sitter Frank Zimmer finished 10th.
This was also the second race that had to be stopped - united fans of drivers that couldn't qualify yesterday beer bombed the leader and other drivers. Therefore, no points will be awarded for fastest lap.

It's hard to follow the hour-long race. It's even harder, when - as I said before - cars don't have any distinctive liveries and for example Shinobu Katayama and Ismail Sbai share the same (red) colour. I'll think about it in 2012 season, when the race will be divided into two races.
This season is more of a development and I'd love to read some suggestions on how to improve the series :D

All-righty! First season of F1RLFS slowly comes to an end! The final race of the season is called...

HWNSNBM Challenge

Qualifying
Final race of the season started off with a surprising performance of Phillippe Nicolas. Frenchman clocked 2:14.51 and outqualified Douglas Mann by 0.04 sec. Shinobu Katayama qualified 3rd, followed by her teammate Barii Mori. Both Sunshine Infiniti drivers are championship contenders, so they are in convenient positions. Damon Cannon, who is 2nd in the standings - not likely. He qualified 5th and will share the line with Kirsty Price. Pippa Mann, Douglas' sister, qualified 7th and Sebastian Groves 8th. Fifth row qualifiers are Sammy Jones and Daniel Melrose, who closes the top 10.

Race
THIS RACE WAS EPIC!
So far it's the only thing I can say for sure - the most action packed race of this season took place today in Fern Bay. Not only because of numerous overtakes, spins, battles and so on.
Race started off as usual, with Phillippe Nicolas and Douglas Mann running away. Ismail Sbai jumped into 13th position after starting from dead last - not in the points, but still an impressive start! Nicolas was pushing to the limit right from the start, setting the fastest lap at the time. It paid off with a massive lead of 5 seconds over Mann, although his tires were worn off after 10 laps and Frenchman was sliding on every corner, much to the cheering of 15000 spectators.
In the meantime Douglas Mann and Shinobu Katayama battled for 2nd. Damon Cannon, one of the contenders, was 5th followed by Kirsty Price. Phil McCracken had a horrible start and was closing the field with Rhys Davies in 19th. He benefited from this position later.
After 15th lap Douglas Mann started to close on Nicolas, beating Frenchman's time by over a second, still holding Katayama behind him. As for the ladies - Kirsty Price (she also was one of the fastest drivers on the grid, and was even the fastest for a moment) was 6th and Pippa Mann 8th at the moment. It's worth noting, that Katayama was one of the drivers fighting for the championship.
Nicolas was leading the race confidently before he had to lap three cars of Zimmer, Shellhammer and Davies (18th, 19th and 20th). Phillippe hit Davies' rear wheel and spun out on the chicane, giving away the lead to Douglas Mann, with Shinobu Katayama and Barii Mori advancing to 2nd and 3rd. Things got bad to worse when another lapped driver, Joey Tempest, spun in front of French driver. Nicolas had no chance to avoid hitting him. Then Nicolas was hit by Price and Damon Cannon benefited from it, going from 5th to 4th.
On lap 24 Katayama made a mistake when exiting the chicane and being clearly slower than Mori, she had to let him past. Damon Cannon was having a run for his championship, going as high as 3rd. He lost his position as quickly as he gained it when he cut the corner while lapping other drivers and spun out.
Barii Mori was in the lead until lap 26, when he had to pit and repair and retank his car, and so did Pippa Mann, Groves, Nicolas and Price. Vincent de Nieuwe benefited from it, and jumped in to 4th position when Mori left the pits behind him in 5th.
As of lap 27 the top 3 was Shinobu Katayama, Douglas Mann and Damon Cannon, with Katayama and Cannon for valuable points. Shinobu Katayama and Douglas Mann pitted on lap 28, giving the lead back to Mori. Pippa Mann had to visit the pitlane once again for her drive-through penalty, whilst Frank Zimmer was earning one for exceeding the speed limit in the pitlane.
On lap 28 Daniel Melrose was on his one-stopper and without pitting in, he was as high as 3rd, behind Mori and Katayama. Japanese driver was in the lead but Adam Armenta didn't want to let him past and held him, reducing the gap between Mori and Melrose to 3 seconds. Frank Zimmer finished his drive-thru penalty, whilst Mori angrily waved his hand at Armenta, as well as using some hand gestures. "I'm going for first! says Barii Mori".
When Armenta left what seemed to be enough space to let him go, Spaniard closed the gap and Barii desperately had to escape into the gravel. Shinobu was only waiting for it and quickly retook the lead. Although it seemed that Katayama will hold the lead to the end, she got stuck between Armenta and Davies, letting Mori retake the lead. Then exactly the same happened to Barii, but "Shi" couldn't make much out of it.
Daniel Melrose - unnoticed - went up to second, when Damon Cannon decided to do a banshee move and jump up from 5th to 1st. He got past Pippa Mann, Katayama and Melrose, pushing Mori into the tyres and taking the lead - Damon Cannon is a fighter every inch of the way!
As of lap 31, the top 5 was: Cannon, Melrose, Katayama, Mann, Nicolas, Douglas Mann with poor Mori falling back to 7th and then 8th, when Vincent de Nieuwe used Scuderia de Cesaris' only advantage - top speed. Pippa Mann and Phillippe Nicolas were battling for 4th.
Barii didn't give in and tried to regain his position, but - far from gaining a place - has lost one!
Damon Cannon met an obstacle named Ismail Sbai - Moroccan refused to give way and slowed him down. Melrose closed on him and was about to get past him, when he clipped some sand and spun. Katayama took his second position, but not for long, when Melrose once again made a fantastic comeback. Sbai still held Cannon back, unaware of the fact that he was the lapped one and he wasn't battling with him.
With 5 laps to go the top 5 were: Cannon, Melrose, Katayama, Pippa and Douglas Mann. It seemed that Damon Cannon will effortlessly cross the line in the lead and win not only the HWNSNBM Challenge, but the championship. It wasn't so - his mirrors were full of Melrose. Thankfully Cannon finally find his way around Ismail and could easily push the tempo.
In the meantime Phil McCracken, the leader of the championship was far in the back, stuck between the likes of Tempest and Armenta.
Cannon once again got stuck behind the backmarkers - this time it was Shellhammer, Cockburn and Zimmer. Just as he was going around them, the gearbox failure caused him to go sideways. With Melrose behind him, it was clear that Australian driver will make use of this situation and he did. Melrose jumped in to 1st but not for long as Cannon once again put all his qualities together and got back in to the lead, having to deal with lapped drivers once again. This time they were suspiciously cooperative. Why it was so became clear after the second sector.
With one lap to go, Damon Cannon was leading the race, with Katayama and Melrose following.
Phil McCracken was just behind Cannon, and as the fast chicane in the woods began, he used his low position and... executed a handbook PIT maneuver. Damon spun onto the grass and - as he tried to get back on the track - Katayama, Melrose and Pippa Mann got past. Shortly after th peloton of Mori, Douglas Mann, White, de Nieuwe and Nicolas also got past Cannon and the soon-to-be champ was as low as 10th.
Shinobu Katayama held the lead till the end, with Melrose finishing a close second and Pippa Mann finishing 3rd.

Pippa Mann was very glad to score by far and away her best result of her season in this final race of the season, her first points and podium, which made Douglas's DNF more galling for him. But he did get to enjoy watching such a great race and a brilliant result for his sister.

Croatian ex-F1 driver Mirko Bosevic did a few laps in a new 2012 F1RLFS car at Nurburgring. The car itself is a 2006 Formula Nippon, also known as Lola FN06.
Here are some photos of the new car:

Castrol Jones Racing is interested in either of your services, the lacklustre Joey Tempest, despite getting a race win simply hasn't been good enough all year. He will be replaced by the first driver who takes up this offer!
That's right Eddie, that was me with the banner, Spanish GP, 2002. This pile of legal forms won't fill itself in you know...

Simpson Motorsports are looking to enter the next season if there are any spots available after all the teams from the first season that are going to continue on sign up. It doesn't worry me what the car numbers are, either.

Driver 1: TBA (preferably someone with previous LFS Cup experience)
Driver 2: Michael Robinson
Scorpion Racing - gonna rock you like a hurricane in 2014... hopefully.

Parklife Motorsport will return for a second season in the Lost Souls Forever Cup.
11. Damon Cannon
12. Richie White
Reserve: Poppy Whitechapel

Livery: A combination of this, and this.
The 1990s were better. Fact. And you bloody well know it.

Murray Walker: There's a car coming into the pits now, they're so unreliable with all those electronics on board.
James Hunt: Actually, Murray, one of his wheels has just fallen off...

I don't have a clue about making a livery though. If someone is interested in doing me the favour, I'd like it to be electric blue and yellow, with Red Bull and Camel sponsorship.

Autosport wrote:Greenlaw In At Castrol Jones Racing

The second seat at Castrol Jones Racing was last night finalised as American Dan Greenlaw signed on the dotted line to race alongside team owner Sammy Jones for the 2012 season of the F1RLFS Cup.

"Absolutely delighted. Dan brings with him a new dimension to this series, and we're really hoping this new partnership pays off for both parties and that Dan goes on to becoming a successful F1RLFS driver for Castrol Jones Racing!" announced a smiling Jones.

And Pointrox, if you could make the Castrol Jones Racing livery look something like this, which is what they are currently running with in the F1RWRS, that would be superb! :)
