Vijay Mallya on front page of Sydney Morning Herald site

Actually, it's an article from the UK Telegraph, but it's the headline story on the Herald website at the moment.

I see that the "Indian Richard Branson" is described as having a "portly, primped appearance" .
I was born the day after HWNSNBM. Given time zone differences, we may have been born at the same time.

Yeah, there's been some rumours about this recently. I guess that Sahara, or some other opportunistic business consortium, might take the opportunity to buy out Mallya's remaining part of Force India

Sahara F1
Sahara Grand Prix
Team Sahara

Yeah, I think that sounds like a pretty decent team name! In fact I actually like the sound of that over Force India to be honest!
That's right Eddie, that was me with the banner, Spanish GP, 2002. This pile of legal forms won't fill itself in you know...

Think of the size of the gravel traps if we had a Sahara Grand Prix! No need for walls to get in the way!

Oh wait, you're talking about the new owners of Force India... :P

(But Pacific Grand Prix did compete in TWO Pacific Grands Prix... Just a shame Jordan didn't race in a Grand Prix in Jordan... With Jordan posing...)
As hardcore as a peach...

West Cliff Results 2015
F1RM WEC: 1st (drivers)/2nd (teams)
F3RWRS: 3rd (drivers)/3rd (teams)
Whoop whoop.

Sahara's full name is Sahara India Pariwar, which I think means "Sahara Group of India" (or something similar) in Hindi.

"Grand Prix", on the other hand, is French for "Grand Prize".

So I wonder what "Grand Prize" is in Hindi. I could see that being incorporated into the name, to give it an Indian flavour (certainly more Indian than "Force India").

Going by this, here are a few ideas:

- Sahara Vishaal Inaam
- Sahara Vrihat Inaam
- Sahara Badhiya Inaam
- Sahara Mahaan Inaam

Of course, not knowing the grammatical rules of the Hindi language, it's difficult to say whether these are actual possibilites, but I would not object to a team having their name in another language. Toro Rosso do it, the Equipe teams used to have it, and Ferrari does it, too. So I don't see why a Hindi name couldn't be used. But I think that if Sahara buy the team completely, they will play ti safe and go with an English name.
