Captain Hammer wrote:From the sounds of things, it's a misunderstanding between the owners and the promoters about how the race actually works. The owners have a contract that says "this is the circuit where the race takes place" and the promoters have a contract that says "this is who will be organising the events". But it looks like the promoters believe that they are supposed to have one contract that says both things.

Go home, Bernie, just go home.
The scuttlebutt I hear from Austin insiders is that COTA purposely failed to provide the necessary letters of credit due to their falling out with [Tavo] Hellmund [heading the promoter side/company]. It was well known within the organization that this failure would lead to a cancellation of the contract, and it was known that Hellmund could not fund the fee requirements without their help. It appears that they let the cancellation happen so that they could enter into a contract with FOM that did not include Hellmund. I don’t know if this is fact or fiction.

In fact, only a quarter - just five of them.
