Lotus Racing League: The 2012 Season

Postby Group Lotus » 31 Jan 2012, 11:27

Dear Race teams worldwide

As I am sure you are aware, we at Group Lotus are currently rapidly expanding our motorsports programme, both in single-seaters and GT racing. We have been supporting Takuma Sato in IndyCar where we are soon to be providing engines to 5 IndyCar teams. We are partnering Renault in Formula One this year where we hope to see victory before the year is out. We will be developing a junior programme through our newly-acquired GP2 team and we are currently working on a GT programme.

As part of this expansion, We have announced that we are going to run a Racing League featuring 22 of the very best young drivers battling it out over 12 races in identical Lotus T130's. Teams have the choice of running 1 or 2 cars in as many or as few races as they would like or can afford. The winner of this championship will receive a rather large cash prize and we hope that all the drivers in this championship will be a force in global motorsport for many years to come. The calendar will consist of 12 races on 6 circuits spanning the whole of Europe

Drivers:
1. Mika Paasonen 90 Red Bull Lotus
2. Deiter Hallenstein 91 Red Bull Lotus

It has been announced that there will be a non championship held at the Malaysian Sepang circuit. It is believed that Sepang was originally going to hold a championship race but that plan was scrapped because several teams can't afford to leave Europe. This will please the Lotus's Malaysian owners.

-Team name: Aeroracing Engineering.
-Team info: A professional and passionate racing outfit that, just like Group Lotus, is looking forward to expand to every race series in sight.
-Sponsors: Repsol, Dark Dog, Camel (Repsol is the main one for both cars, just to clarify).
-Number of cars: 2.

-Driver 1 name: Judd McAllister.
-Driver 1 info: Son of Phoenix McAllister, a consolidated racing driver and major shareholder of the team. After a disappointing performance in F3RWRS which saw him getting sacked after only a few races, he's been entered at this series to hopefully restore his reputation and gain some experience.
-Age: 19.
-Number: 7.
-Number of races: all.
-Qualifying performance: medium.
-Race performance: epic.
-Consistency: medium.

-Driver 2 name: Raul Souto Maior.
-Driver 2 info: Phoenix McAllister liked what he saw when he gave this Sao Paulo contender a drive at his F2RWRS team to sub in for the suspended Tanner Jason for two races. Slotted in at this series to gain experience, he seems to be one of Aeroracing Engineering's most brilliant prospects for the future.
-Age: 18.
-Number: 8.
-Number of races: all.
-Qualifying performance: good.
-Race performance: epic.
-Consistency: epic.

Is this a call for a Virgin Inter Corse second driver on a part-time programme? Because Phil McCracken was still with us in 2012 and is willing to drive a second car at Monza, Zandvoort and Silverstone :P
But I'm not going to go ahead and take this place in case two new people show up and want these last two spaces.

I have enough cars now so signups are closed and the vacant spot will be taken up by field filler created by me. The first preseason test should be up tomorrow.
