Sounds very good. I will try my very best to not make you regret it.

Do not worry. I would have done a mess of the choice on my own anyway! :D This is going to be fun!

While we're at it, should this topic be moved from it's current location to this subforum, as it's far more fitting to have it here.

Being Principal of one of the crappier teams on the grid, does this mean I get a higher draft pick? I already have a new first driver in mind

Also, are absolutely none of the current GP drivers pay-drivers?

I want the draft pick order to be random, so Ferrari could luck the first pick or it could just as likley be Minardi.

In terms of Finance I was thinking Factory Teams should start with $20Mil and Customer teams start with $15Mil.

Anyway I will now lable the cost to have a driver for a season, but NO RESERVING OR BIDDING YET.

Now Ordered by Price.

Michael Schumacher 8 Million
Rubens Barrichello 5 Million
David Coulthard 4.5 Million
Kimi Raikkonen 4 Million
Juan P Montoya 3.5 Million
Ralf Schumacher 3 Million
Jaques Villeneuve 3 Million
Fernando Alonso 2 Million
Jenson Button 2 Million
Giancarlo Fisichella 2 Million
Jarno Trulli 1.75 Million
Felipe Massa 1.5 Million
Mark Webber 1.5 Million
Olivier Panis 1.25 Million
Heinz Harold Frentzen 1.2 Million
Takuma Sato 1 Million
Nick Heidfeld 1 Million
Cristiano Matta `1 Million
Marc Gene 0.95 Million
Alex Wurz 0.95 Million
Antonio Pizzonia 0.9 Million
Jos Verstappen 0.9 Million
Neel Jani 0.8 Million
Ralph Firman 0.75 Million
Allan McNish 0.7 Million
Ricardo Zonta 0.65 Million
Andre Lotterer 0.6 Million
Justin WIlson 0.55 Million
Nicolas Kiesa 0.5 Million
Enrique Bernoldi +2 Million
HWNSNBM +2 Million

The Rest of the drivers, I will find the cost on request

Karthikeyan = +2,5 million
Yamamoto = +2,5 million
Bourdais = 400,000
Kubica 250,000

I don't know what I was thinking when I set those wages... However, both Bourdais and Kubica (reflecting his inexperience in 2003) are quite crap, although Kubica does have a lot of potential.

The Draft turn order will be made at Midnight GMT to add a bit of suspense. (I said the draw will be made once 10 teams have been choosen)

12 names will be put in to the draw despite the fact only 10 teams appear to be present at the draw. The team principles all look nervous as they realise their star driver may be poached by another team, the fact that being forced to go last gives first pick for the 2nd driver offers little comfort to most! Don Rennis, Von Gottorp and Alasdair Lindsay all strike intimidating figures. The often jovile Eddie Jordan looks nervy as the now spiritual figurehead stands next to new manager DanielPT. Only Fab Fav seems relaxed, knowing management duties are now under the stewardship of Eurobrun. Most of the managers seem to have distanced themselves from Mr Briatore!!! A strange group in new, yet strangely familiar, colours is also present, Phoenix lead by The Lukas seem to have a determined aura about them, as if they already know their plans for the draw ahead.

As the time ticks down, it appears DanielPT and Von Gottorp are in a private discussion, perhaps engineering a deal or maybe instead just discussing the quality of the champagne!

The worlds press look on as they wonder where, if anywhere, their local heros will be playing their trade.

Whilst 78 drivers, some of them familiar, some not, line up across the room and await their fate.

The teams are all represnted by numbered balls placed in a bowl, lined up as such:

1-Ferrari
2-Williams
3-McLaren
4-Renault
5-Sauber
6-Jordan
7-Jaguar
8-BAR
9-Minardi
10- *Absent* (Toyota)
11- *Absent* (Arrows)
12- Phoenix

12 "Celebrity" guests step forward, it appears they will be making the draw.

The first of whom is Bernie Ecclestone (Of course he goes first!) standing on tip toes he reaches in to the bowl and pulls out the number 5 In a twist of fate, the team most famous for Mediocracy becomes the first to select a driver, the team I am refering too is Sauber Tristan117 and spiritual head Peter Sauber nod sagely as a small smirk crosses both of their faces. Bernie Ecclestone walks off muttering something about how he wished he had picked ferrari.

The next guest to step forward walks with a spring in his step, it is none other then 98-99 world champion Mika Hakkinen, who also fancys a comeback this year. He picks ball number 10 an awkward silence covers the room as Toyota, worringly, did not turn up for this event. If Sauber hurry their decision Toyota will lose their premium place in the line! A gentle cough is heard, it's FMecha, how long he has been standing there is a mystery, he seems pleased with the second pick.

The next guest walks forward to popular applause, legendary commentator Murry Walker smiles and waves as he reaches the bowl. "Number 6" he yells out triumphantly, "The ball is upside down Murry" yell the collective audience as the actual number drawn is Number 9, Minardi. Mr Lindsay struggles to hide his delight and yells "A Minardi on the podium, we did it!" seeimingly unaware this is just the driver selection process...

Prince Albert of Monaco is the next guest to step forward, in all his glamour he selects ball number 12 the decidedly not glamourous minnow team Phoenix The Lukas, arms folded, nods sagely, glances once at the pool of drivers and promptly leaves the hall.

Following the prince theme, the Crown Prince of Bahrain steps forward, apparantly this is some compensation for the race deal falling through, he picks Number 4 belonging to Renault Eurobrun looks happy at this turn of events whilst Flavio has already started chatting up some of the show girls.

1996 champion Damon Hill now steps forward, it is with some irony he draws ball number 6, Jordan. The team that Hill (in)famously ended his career!

The next person to make the draw is none other then Tom Kristensen, who won last years Le Mans 24hours, he draws ball number 8. BAR have the "lucky number 7" pick.

FIA president Max Mosley steps up to make his draw, some jeers are heard from the back of the hall as he draws ball number 1 The Prancing Horse itself, Ferrari!

3 time champion and former team owner Alain Prost is next up to the plate, he draws Number 11, a moments silence is held for the missing Arrows team. But what's this! a man dressed in Orange burst in to the lobby, It is Adrian Sutil, he promptly shakes hands with a bemused Prost and sits down to enjoy the remainder of the ceremony, oblivious of the stunned audience.

3 time champion and former team owner, yes again, Jackie Stewart, dressed in a Tartan Kilt, proudly draws Number 2, Williams Don Rennis's work starts now!

Only two teams remain in the pot, Jaguar and McLaren. Craig Pollock steps forward and makes a fumble of the draw, eventually pulling out number 7, Jaguar! So that leaves McLaren with the double pick.

Tamara Ecclestone steps forward to indeed prove that McLaren was the last in the bowl, top stuff.

Tristan steps forward to make the first driver choice of the season, after a slight pause, he decides on Kimi Raikkonen. The Fin making a shock return to Sauber.
The rest of the first draws look as such:

1-Sauber = Tristan117 1.Kimi Raikkonen 2.
2-Toyota = FMecha 1.Olivier Panis 2.
3-Minardi = Alasdair Lindasy 1.Mika Hakkinen 2.
4.Phoenix = The Lukas 1.Pedro de la Rosa 2.
5-Renault = Eurobrun 1.Fernando Alonso 2.
6-Jordan = DanielPT 1. 2.
7-BAR = East Londoner 1.Mark Webber 2.
8-Ferrari = Von Gottorp 1.Ralf Schumacher 2. Rubens Barrichello
9-Arrows = Adrian Sutil 1.Adrian Sutil 2.
10-Williams = Don Rennis 1.Jenson Button 2.
11-Jaguar = The Masked Lapwing 1.Luca Badoer 2.Takuma Sato
12-McLaren = Phoenix 1.Michael Schumacher 2. Jarno Trulli
