Fun that the organisers are encouraging - they have not only said that they will not take any action against Keselowski for what could be considered to be dangerous driving, they have said that they encourage their drivers to use social media tools provided that they still drive safely.

A slow and painful death. The Dodges in the Cup series only look fast because they've had some of the best drivers (Keselowski, Kurt Busch). I wonder if RPM will try to get out of Roush Fenway B-Team status and become the lead Dodge team... the King does love his Chrysler products...

Back when Toyota moved up to the Cup (2007?) there were rumours that Honda would follow suit, around that time they launched a new pickup that would have been perfect for the Truck series (Toyota spent a couple of years in Trucks before they moved to the cup). Nothing ever came of it, but with fuel injection NASCAR is now looking a bit more road relevent, so you never know.

The only other "manufacturer" I can think of is Lotus, since they seem to be entering literally everything else these days.

Just been reading a week-old Autosport, and in the Daytona Nationwide results, I noticed a driver called Timmy Hill in a Ford Mustang (he came 7th). Is he any relation to Phil Hill by any chance? (This is much more likely in my opinion than being related to the British Hills of Graham, Damon, Josh, et al.)

No, Phil Hill would be embarassed to be associated with the Giovanni Lavaggi of NASCAR.

Timmy Hill is a joke. A funny one at that... he went from legends cars to the Nationwide Series in 1 year, and somehow has a fanbase! :lol:

Brian Vickers is back for Bristol in Michael Waltrip's #55 car. He'll run both Bristol, Martinsville, and New Hampshire events, meaning he'll race on the perfect tracks for revenge crashes. Frankly, NASCAR needs Vickers because he is clearly willing to cause chaos if someone races him too hard... he's actually not a terrible driver, but the concept of anger management is foreign to him sometimes (unlike a certain pair of brothers...).

Vickers and Waltrip are a marriage made in heaven, the only difference is that Vickers crashes into people on purpose and Waltrip just wrecks because he's a talentless hack that had a 25 year long career because his brother was one of the top 15 NASCAR drivers of all time...

The concept of common sense is foreign to Vickers, proof being his GQ interview when he bragged about partying like a rock star, banging tons of women, and ignoring doctors orders (this after he had very severe blood clots), and it was no small wonder teams stayed away after RBR folded. It will be entertaining to see him get slightly tapped, then wreck a dozen cars to get to the offender, only to wreck himself when he gets there. And then say post race "We had a great day today".

For weeks now I've been thinking about Hyundai entering NASCAR. I might make this happen in my fantasy racing universe, so it would be a funny coincidence if it happened in real life. The only problem is, they don't seem to build pickup trucks that I know of...

That's what I meant...the #55 car runs part-time drivers...I didn't realise Waltrip was doing all of the Superspeedways though, I figured he was only doing Daytona.

the truck series is "returning" to Rockingham in two weeks. but not where the NASCAR fans in britain(try saying that with a staight face) want them to go. and by that i mean where i want them to go. away from america.
