While working down in Maidenhead last summer I remebered readind somewhere that Ronnie Peterson had been
a resident in the town along with Howden Ganley back inthe 1970s. It's within the F1 corridor close to Cookham
Dean etc. where the likes of Keke Rosberg used to live.
So, after a little bit of research I found the address and set off one summer's evening along the leafy Thames
to pay homage. Although quite what I intended doing I am not so sure of! Well I finally crept up outside the
house as dark was falling on a perfectly still July evening. There it was: a fine detached house in a quiet road
in an obviously well-to-do area of the town. I guess I now know how pilgrims feel! There was a light on upstairs
and I though sorely tempted to knock on the door and mention Ronnie - I was actually burning to know if the present occupiers knew of their famous prevoious owner - an evening in Maidenhead nick didn't appeal so i contented myself to merely
stare at the house and imagine Ronnie and Barbro there and how happy they must have once been.
Anyone else have any other anecdotes concerning F1 dwellings?
Didn't Senna live in a bungalow somewhere in Norfolk?
