The old Hockenheim was better than the current one (seeing the responses on the other Hockenheim thread, my view is seemingly suitable for this thread).

Fact, not opinion, I reckon. Certainly with Alonso's tantrums at the moment, a lot of Latin "flair."

Couldn't agree more. Whilst I (and probably a few others on here) take a sick pleasure in seeing them struggle after growing up through the Schumacher years, it's a shame to see the team desperately trying anything to get some decent results.

Still, it's a good demonstration of how F1 doesn't really need Ferrari.

The Sachsenring is the best track in Germany.

Mimmo might have been one of Paul Page's nicknames for him. The CART team used to call Stefan Johansson "Stevie Johnson" amongst themselves off the air.

Max Papis came from the nickname "Mad Max" that he got from a spectacular drive in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1996 when he set some of the fastest laps of the race in a car with its bodywork held together by tape. The name stuck.

Judging by the Silverstone-threads, i'd say this is an unpopular opinion:

Webber is a whiny bitch who should just shut the hell up and focus on driving instead of pitching worse fits than Whinelton at his worst.
Also, Red Bull are damn right to put their money on Vettel, he's faster than Mark, less prone to stupid mistakes, less prone to stupid hissyfits and not on the bloody senior-class of F1.
I got Pointed Opinions and I ain't afraid to use em!

Correction, the neds don't have a chance.

I mean, after all, a few hundred thousand drunken and violent Finns kicked the ass of the entire Soviet Union for a good several years ya? :P

and i'd say Webber is more prone to stupid mistakes than Vettel, take Valencia for example. And no, i still don't think Vettel was entirely to blame for the Turkey crash. Bsides, Vettel showed Webber than despite having to pit early, you can climb up to the points and not just into the skies! :P

1.5m drunk Scots wearing kilts/skirts marching to the sound of the Proclaimers, the Cocteau Twins and bagpipes fighting a bunch of Finns who are known for their usage of guns, driving cars in forests while listening to Nightwish would be quite something. It would make great telly, though would probably mean alcohol posioning would reach record amounts.

(Apologies for the amount of stereotypes and to the nations of Finland and Scotland. I have a cousin who lives in Scotland if that helps)

True, but Vettel wasn't what you would call in a hurry to try and get himself into a position to score before the safety car.

Somehow, we have gone from a discussion about the British GP to preparations for a full scale battle royale between Finland and Scotland. Well, to something a little less explosive:
redbulljack14 wrote:Valencia is not the worst track on the current F1 calendar (well not any more at least)

An interesting opinion - if you think that Valencia is not the worst track on the calendar, I'm curious to see what you would suggest is the worst circuit. Barcelona, perhaps, which has traditionally produced fairly unexciting races? Or, judging by the fact that you are saying "not any more at least", I assume that we are going to have to go back a few years - are you suggesting one of the more recently dropped tracks, or are we going to have to go back a few decades?
