Forums being sluggish?

Postby DonTirri » 25 Aug 2010, 15:36

Is it just me or have the boards been rather sluggish and prone to random crashing lately?

Almost daily, there are times when the boards either take ridiculously long to load, or I can't even access them. Have others had these problems or are they just on my end?

I haven't had any problems so it might just be at your end

I can't tell. I went home to my mom's house this week, and her internet is slow and her wifi is laggy.

Or it's them Indian hackers again who did not like that Force 1ndia got a ROTR award for Hockenheim? ;)

Yeah, it happened me a couple days last week. I wouldn't be able to access the page for some hours, and other times it took a bit long to load, but that wasn't too annoying.

Not daily, but, like Phoenix, I have noticed that the forums can be fairly slow to load, or even fail to load at all, for a short period of time. Normally, though, like Phoenix, I find that it lasts for perhaps a few hours at any one time, and after that, it is back to normal service.

It does happen to me, every now and then. Perhaps it really is those pesky Indian hackers - anybody got the number for Aerolabs' lawyers?

Whenever this happened to me, I just thought it was me or my computer - looks like it clearly isn't/wasn't. Is there any pattern to these, does it happen to everyone at the same time?

It happens every now and then. Mostly, I just press the refresh button on my browser a couple of times, and it ends up doing what I wanted.

Occasionally the whole site doesn't open for me, and that's when other sites are working fine.

Its quite fitting that the F1 Rejects site occasionally acts a bit rejectfully.

From time to time, I get the HTTP 500 or 503 error (Internal Server Error and Service Temporary Unavailable in English), but they usually clear out merely by refreshing the page. Sometimes I also get the "timeout" error, meaning that the server doesn't respond in time to my request.

When that happens, I shout at the computer. Doesn't help with access, but makes me feel better.

I occasionally get minor problems getting F1 Rejects to load, but I've seen worse. For example, I haven't been able to load my favourite driver's official site for over 2 weeks solid, and that same site was down for about 2 months earlier this year.

Sounds like there's something Fisi going on.

So judging from the replies, the people from Europe have these problems while the Yanks and the Aussies don't.
