Won't they be legally unable to use Formula One in the title as Bernie owns the rights to that? (See US F1).

I've heard Grand Prix One touted around
"will you stop him playing tennis then?", referring to Montoya's famous shoulder injury, to which Whitmarsh replied "well, it's very difficult to play tennis on a motorbike"

As I understand, along with GP2, Bernie has the rights to the names of GP1 and GP3. What would prevent Bern from getting involved in the commercial rights of this series too?

Klon and thehemogoblin, your ackronyms are pure gold!

Since any international series needs FIA sanctioning and only the FIA can designate a "world championship." They can use an alternate name desribing what FOTA primarily consists of. Super Automotive Giants United Racing International.

The reason the name is so long is because the initials send a message of what the 8 teams think of the FIA.

They said they intend to "listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide", so they'll probably choose something hip, like Formula Ultra or Formula X.

Even though i'm a Williams fan, I'd probably go and watch this breakaway series, especially if the lower prices are good. But the names that you think they'll probably choose are pretty crap.

Given Mosley's latest comments - singling Briatore out as a wannabe Ecclestone - I suggest "Formula Flav!" as the name of not just the new series, but of the inevitable musical production to accompany it.

It's going to be big on the West End. Everyone loves a musical with a catchy name, weird story and lots of girls. Oh, yes.

Yes, "The Bi-Curious Case of Jenson Button" was doing well until Ralf Schumacher sued them for an inaccurate depiction of him as the second-best driver in the sport. Strangely enough, there was no comment from Camp Button.

Bernie doesn't own "Grand Prix". "Grand Prix" is used in the names of various IRL races here in the states.

I remember reading Bernie registered the "GP" designation. Might be inaccurate, though.
